Andrew’s ex Koo fights for £200,000 from former love
PRINCE Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Koo Stark went to the High Court yesterday claiming £200,000 from an ex-lover.
The New York-born former actress, who dated Andrew for 18 months in 1981 and 1982 before he dumped her when it emerged she had starred in a soft porn movie, is seeking the cash from Warren Walker, heir to the Forbes publishing and shipping fortune.
It is the latest in a series of acrimonious legal disputes between the pair since they split two decades ago.
Miss Stark, 60, who was made bankrupt after an earlier spat with Mr Walker, an American banker who is the father of her daughter, says he owes her the money. But he is trying to have the claim thrown out.
The former lovers sat feet apart in court in London yesterday as judge Mr Justice Moor heard preliminary submissions from lawyers representing both sides.
He adjourned the case until a future date yet to be fixed.
Miss Stark, her long grey hair secured in an Alice band, was asked after the hearing if she wanted to comment. She replied: “You know my policy.”
More than three years ago Miss Stark was accused of stealing a £40,000 oil painting from Mr Walker.
She returned the work by Anthonie van Borssom, which depicts a moonlit coastal landscape, before any trial was staged.
A judge at Isleworth Crown Court had been told that prosecution and defence lawyers had reached an agreement under which Miss Stark would return the painting – and she was cleared of theft.
After leaving the court at the end of that case she said in a statement: “I leave with the desire that from now on we will treat each other with respect and that any disputes we may have are dealt with in private and with dignity.”
