I miss Paul every day reveals Debbie as she aids war on his cancer

- By Mark Reynolds

THE widow of TV magician Paul Daniels yesterday told of her devastation at his death, revealing she still “misses him every day”.

Debbie McGee spoke of her loss as she launched an initiative to raise money to fund research into the disease that killed Paul, 77.

Debbie, 58, who for years was Paul’s assistant in his stage act, is working with the Brain Tumour Research charity to raise awareness.

She launched a pin badge, featuring a white rabbit in a pink top hat, right, to help to generate funds.

Paul died in March last year after a short battle with brain cancer.

Debbie said yesterday: “Paul died four weeks and five days after the diagnosis.

“I still miss him every day. I still love spending time with our rabbits.

“He loved them so much and they make me think of him.

“I am proud to be able to work with Brain Tumour Research and I think Paul would have been proud, too. “I hope people buy these badges. They’ll be remembering Paul and supporting vital research.” The badge, which Debbie helped to design, is available on eBay with a suggested donation of £5. Sue Farrington Smith, of Brain Tumour Research said: “We are enormously grateful to Debbie who is bravely sharing her story with the aim of ensuring that other families do not have to bear the pain she experienced. “Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. “Yet just one per cent of national spend on cancer research is allocated to this devastating disease. “We believe that this unacceptable.” is Debbie McGee, 58, with her husband Paul Daniels, 77, who died four weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumour
