UK fishermen caught up in politicians’ net of betrayal

PIECE by piece the numerous ways the EU has been fleecing the UK for the past 40 years are being dragged into the light (“EU plot to plunder UK fish stocks after Brexit”, February 17).

A £13billion-a-year subscription, £484million a year plundered from our fish stocks and compliance with thousands of EU laws costing who knows how much.

What do we get in return? Membership of the protectionist internal market which prevents us from free trading outside the EU.

It defies belief that influential people in this country hysterically maintain that putting a stop to this gigantic fraud would ruin us. We will be ruined if we don’t.
