HAIR STYLIST

Who: Mathew Soobroy is principal stylist at Charles Worthington. If an actress or model is looking for a glamorous on-trend ’do for a big event, Mathew is who they go to see.

What’s the fuss: This super stylist has been working in the beauty industry for more than 20 years and has spent the last 15 at Charles Worthington.

He is one of the most experienced red carpet stylists in London and has recently coiffed Downton Abbey’s Lily James and The Crown’s Claire Foy.

Mathew also works with Bafta and Burberry, styling celebs for awards ceremonies and the front row at London Fashion Week.

Best known for: A real eye for colour, Mathew expertly blends the right tones with clever contouring and layering to ensure a perfect result.

Red carpet rule: “Make sure your hair looks great and complements your outfit,” says Mathew.

“If your outfit is understated you can be more adventurous, if your outfit is more dramatic then keep your hair simple. Soft waves look good for any occasion, simple yet effective and classic for the red carpet.” More information: Call 020 7831 5303 or visit charlesworthingtonsalons.com

COSMETIC DOCTOR

Who: Dr Jules Nabet is a French cosmetic doctor with more than 25 years experience in his specialised field of aesthetics.

What’s the fuss: With clinics in Paris, London and Moscow, Dr Nabet is one of the most in-demand Botox practitioners.

His client list is a closely guarded secret but A-list actresses and models are regular visitors to his discreet clinic in Kensington, west London.

Forget frozen faces, Dr Nabet takes a less-is-more approach to anti-ageing treatments and his clients love the natural results.

His specialisms are Botox, fillers and peels and he has his own range of cosmeceutical skincare.

Best known for: Dr Nabet was the pioneer of “baby Botox”, using just enough to refresh the look but leaving movement and expression. He was also the first doctor in the UK to use the Botox pen, a new way of delivering the injections via a motorised syringe.

This means the amount of Botox delivered into the skin is accurate and it is almost pain-free, perfect for needle-phobes.

Red carpet rule: If you are interested in non-surgical treatments, make sure you choose a good doctor.

“Your face shouldn’t be frozen after Botox. If you can’t move your face it hasn’t been done correctly,” he says.

“To the untrained eye it should be impossible for anyone to tell if you’ve had treatment. People should say you look well, not ask what you have had done.” More information: Call 020 7938 2195 or visit julesnabet.com

SPRAY TAN

Who: Jules Von Heptonstall is one of the UK’s leading tanning experts and the person celebs have on speed dial when they need a head-to-toe glow.

What’s the fuss: Whether he’s backstage at London Fashion Week, getting the showbiz world red carpet ready or prepping the stars of Strictly Come Dancing, Jules’s modern approach to tanning has made him indispensable to celebrities including Sienna Miller, Poppy Delevingne and Laura Whitmore.

Best known for: Jules describes his signature look as “an undetectable, confident VIP glow”. The idea, he explains, is to look sunkissed and healthy without looking as if you’ve faked it at all. Red carpet rule: Prep the night before. “Ensure skin is ready by exfoliating with an oil-free scrub and remove any make-up and deodorant,” he says.

“Apply Tan-Luxe The Water, £33 (tan-luxe.com) by misting it over your body. Sweep an applicator mitt over the top to blend and if you’re in a hurry, dry the skin with a hairdryer on cool.” Jules recommends two coats for the body and one for the face.

“Lightly rub a dry facecloth over the body to buff off excess and wipe palms and nails afterwards,” he says.

“Leave for four to six hours to develop and enjoy your golden hydrated party skin.” More information: Visit julesvonhep.com

MAKE-UP ARTIST

Who: Internationally renowned make-up artist Wendy Rowe has worked with the greats of the global fashion and beauty industry.

What’s the fuss: With two decades of experience, Wendy has created on-trend looks for designers including Burberry, Prada, Gucci and Chanel as well as working

with some of the most famous models in the world including Gisele Bündchen and Naomi Campbell.

Best known for: Luxe yet wearable make-up trends and flawless skin with a twist on the classic smoky eye.

Red carpet rule: Take make-up from day to night with a modern smoky eye.

“For day, use a contour stick as eyeshadow to sculpt and smoke the eyes,” says Wendy.

She recommends Burberry’s Face Contour, £25 (feelunique. com). “Blend the colour around the lash line, smudging it with your finger for definition,” she says.

For evening, Wendy suggests using an iridescent shadow such as Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow, £21(narscosmetics.co.uk). The key, she says, is not to apply too much so that you can still see the skin beneath. “When it’s too heavy your eyes disappear. It’s about creating an impression of a smoky eye, so don’t go super dark,” she says.

“Instead, blend the shadow to nothing at the edges with your finger.” More information: Visit wendyrowe.com

COSMETIC DENTIST

Who: Celebrity dentist Dr Richard Marques is the man behind many of the pearly white smiles you’ll see on the red carpet.

What’s the fuss: Dr Marques is known for his cutting-edge approach to dental care, using the most up-to-date techniques with everything from straightening to a complete smile makeover.

He is a whizz at whitening and veneers and has treated celebs including DJ Nick Grimshaw, singer Rita Ora and actress Sadie Frost.

Best known for: His laser teethwhitening treatments that can transform a smile in as little as one session.

He is also brilliant with nervous patients and offers a range of services including hypnosis to help deal with pre-treatment anxiety.

Red carpet rule: “There are lots of natural ways to whiten teeth,” says Dr Marques.

“Apples and strawberries both contain malic acid, which is a natural whitener. And although it might sound strange, charcoal works too. Before a big event I recommend Diamond Whites Black Edition Charcoal Tooth Polish, £16.99 (superdrug.com). It has an instant whitening effect, making it perfect before the red carpet.” More information: 020 7637 1672 or wimpolestreetdental.com

FACIALIST

Who: The woman behind the bee venom skincare trend, Deborah Mitchell is the go-to facialist for the Royal Family and other A-list celebs.

What’s the fuss: Not only is she believed to be the beauty expert behind Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles’ gorgeous glow, her eponymous beauty brand Heaven was the first to use abeetoxin – a powerful anti-ageing ingredient inspired by bee venom – which spawned numerous copycat products across the globe.

Best known for: Her famous Bee Sting Facial promises to increase collagen levels by 300 per cent, smoothing fine lines for a younger-looking complexion.

It also improves common skin complaints such as adult acne.

Red carpet rule: Keep make-up in place all night by not applying a moisturiser before you put on your foundation.

“If you use a moisturiser your make-up will slide off,” says Deborah.

She recommends using a gel or a primer such as Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer, £30 (smashbox.co.uk).

“It hydrates your skin but will allow your make-up to last,” she says. More information: heavenskincare.com
