Wenger will risk rookies

ARSENE WENGER is set to risk a weakened team at non-League Sutton in the FA Cup tonight – even though defeat will intensify the pressure on his job at Arsenal.

The Frenchman is still sore after the 5-1 Champions League mauling by Bayern in Munich on Wednesday – a defeat which almost certainly spells the end of their European campaign. But he says his decision to stay as Arsenal boss beyond the end of the season will depend on results in the next few weeks and he had planned to use a weakened team for tonight’s fifth-round tie even before last week’s drubbing. Wenger, left, is likely to use youngsters such as Rob Holding, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine Adelaide on Sutton’s 3G pitch.
