Chairman’s comments an insult to teacher’s victims

I WAS appalled to read the comments of Steve Powell, chairman of the Cardiff fitness to practise committee, that former primary school teacher Jonathan Norbury had shown “no failing in his abilities as a teacher” when there was evidence Norbury had sex with schoolgirls over a number of years (“10-year ban for teacher who preyed on under-age girls”, February 18).

Norbury should be banned for life from the classroom and the chairman severely censured.
