Lloyd’s job for Carnegie-Brown
FINANCIAL services veteran Bruce Carnegie-Brown has secured one of the most prestigious posts in the City after being appointed the new chairman of Lloyd’s of London.
His nomination to succeed John Nelson, who is retiring after nearly six years, was backed by the insurance market’s council. The appointment is subject to formal approval and consent from the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Carenegie-Brown, currently chairman of Moneysupermarket. com and vice-chairman of Banco Santander, will take up the position in June. His 35-year career includes three years as boss of insurance broker Marsh Europe.
