Travel insurance at half the price!

-

It’s vital to declare pre-existing medical conditions when you take out holiday insurance, but it needn’t cost the earth.

When Jackie Hedges booked her Christmas break to Tenerife she initially paid for the travel agent’s holiday insurance, at a cost of £51 for herself and her husband. However, when she mentioned that she had medical conditions to declare she was told to ring and add them to the policy. After disclosing her medical details, and without even getting as far as discussing those of her husband, her premium went up to over £100 so she decided to shop around.

After searching online she found PayingTooMuch.com and gave them a call. And when they told her the price she was over the moon as the cover only cost £47, less than the original quote from the travel agent but including all her and her husband’s medical conditions.

“It was brilliant” says Jackie, from Devon. “I was so happy that I could organise the insurance by phone and I spoke to Bryony who was lovely. They saved my life as I thought I was going to have to shell out a fortune for our cover”.

Beth Macer, travel insurance expert at PayingTooMuch.com says “If a pre-existing medical condition reoccurs whilst you’re away and wasn’t declared then you may not be able to make a claim so it is vital to disclose them when you get a quote. Our website is very easy to use but if customers need to speak to someone then they can do so.”.

*Premiums based on 2 travellers, 50 and 55, travelling to Spain for one week on 1/2/17. Traveller one has diet-controlled diabetes, no complications. Traveller two has high blood pressure (1 medication) and cholesterol. Both nonsmokers. **Standard geographic call rates apply.
