BROADCHURCH A NO-BRAINER FOR LENNY

-

HAVING joined the cast of popular ITV drama Broadchurch for the final series, Lenny Henry insists he was desperate for the role. So much so he’d agreed to it before his agent had even finished asking him the question. “I am a huge fan of Broadchurch. When the offer came through, I don’t think they even got to the end of ‘Broad’. They didn’t get to the ‘d’– I just said yes, yes whatever it is, yes!” the 58-year-old tells us.

“And so then I met the director and we had a philosophical conversation about Broadchurch and the kind of bloke [my character] Ed is and how he fitted into the community.

“It was a no-brainer.”

HE KNOWS I’M A “I’M RAISING HIM TO RESPECT WOMEN. POWERFUL FORCE.” SOMETHING TELLS US ADELE’S WILL BE NO CHAUVINIST FOUR-YEAR-OLD SON ANGELO
