PRINCE Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle was so penniless in her early acting days, she went to auditions in a car she could only get into by crawling through the boot.
The 35-year-old actress, who now stars as Rachel Zane in the television legal drama Suits, said she spent five months attending auditions in the car she could not afford to fix.
In an interview with US show Entertainment Tonight, she laughed: “This epic day happened where the locks stopped opening with the key.
“And the clicker wouldn’t open the front doors and I couldn’t afford to fix this car and this was how I got from one audition to the other.

“So what I would start to do is literally go to these auditions, park at the back of the parking lot and I would open my trunk…and crawl into the back of my car to the front seat to drive off to my next audition.”
Meghan, who recorded the interview last October – just before her romance with Harry, 32, was revealed by the Sunday Express – had just flown in from London and was wearing a similar bracelet to one sported by the Prince.
The actress, who has recently been inseparable from Harry after moving into his cottage at Kensington Palace in January during a break in filming, shares the Prince’s passion for humanitarian work.
