Many of you may have had an amazing first husband or a wife but don’t look for someone to “replace” them. You’re not the same person you were when you fell for them so find someone who will like you for who you are now.

On your first date, dress to impress but make sure you’re comfortable so you feel relaxed.

Put yourself out there. The world has changed and so have people’s attitudes so be willing to go on dates with different people.

Sign up to a good quality, paid-for dating website. People who invest money in their search for a partner are likely to be more serious about dating.

You’ve got baggage, your date has baggage. Your first date is not about the past, it’s about discovering each other and how you can make each other happy.

Put yourself first and rediscover your love for life. You’re more likely to attract the right partner if you look like a fun person to be around.

Age difference matters. Determine your appropriate dating age and stick to it.

Dare to be bold. It’s your life and you’ve probably already ticked all the boxes of things “you were supposed to do” such as marriage, kids, etc. Your new partner should be a reflection of yourself now.
