Charles in private visit to hospital staff and victims
PRINCE Charles met victims of the Westminster attack yesterday – and made one young patient’s day.
The heir to the throne met victims privately at King’s College Hospital in London and also chatted to staff who responded to the atrocity.
Among those he visited was “excited” 19-year-old Travis Frain, who tweeted a picture of the Prince sitting beside him alongside a message that thanked him for coming.
The politics and history student from Lancashire sustained arm and leg injuries after being hit by the terrorist’s rented 4x4 and was among at least 50 people who were injured, of whom 31 required treatment at hospitals across central London.
Speaking to staff, Charles said: “Thank you for all your marvellous efforts. How you do it, I don’t know.”
Among staff he met was consultant radiologist Pauline Kane, who said later: “It was inspiring the way people just worked together to deal with the patient in front of them.” information about the killer, who had a number of aliases and is believed to have been living in a flat in the former Olympic village in east London.
He said detectives were keen to find out whether he acted alone, inspired by terrorist propaganda, or whether others “encouraged, supported or directed him”.
He added: “There might be people out there who had concerns about Masood but weren’t sure or didn’t feel comfortable for whatever reason in passing information to us.” He urged anyone with information to ring the Anti-Terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.
