And gentlemen’s
(rice buns stuffed with Szechuan-flavoured halloumi) and fluffy Churrosimo – cinnamon doughnut straws with a rich chocolate dipper.
There is a children’s menu to please the pickiest palate and even a menu for babies.

KOOKS
During a day of shopping around North Laine, my favourite area of Brighton, seek out this bistro bolthole on Gardner Street for a casual lunch.
In a modern interior of dark wooden tables offset by smart white walls and statement lighting, Kooks gives a stylish upgrade to largely traditional English dishes such as the delicious fish and chips, here presented as beer-battered haddock with twice-cooked chips and mint pea purée.
There are also legendary breakfasts and delicious suppers. Full of atmosphere, it is nearly as bustling as the streets outside.

THE NEW CLUB
While you might come to Brighton for a taste of the traditional British seaside town, The New Club on King’s Road offers a taste of New York.
Candlelit and atmospheric with swing jazz playing in the background, it has an unrivalled location with full-length windows looking directly out over the seafront.
The New Club serves up tasty burgers plus a host of American craft beers such as Brooklyn Standard amber lager from New York.

TREAT THE CHILDREN SEA LIFE BRIGHTON
Bribe the youngsters into shopping submission by promising them a trip to this seafront wonder.
The bulk of this murky underwater world is set in an atmospheric Victorian arcade that hosts more than 3,500 creatures, many of them bearing a fascinating resemblance to aliens from a galaxy far, far away. You can feed a turtle, stroke a sea anemone and cross an indoor pool in a glass-bottomed boat, watching sharks and other sea life beneath you. New (opening April 22) is Claws, a world of crabs including the Japanese spider crab, the planet’s largest, with a leg span of up to 12ft.
