Tara will be hard to beat

- The Scout

TARA VIEW is a handy 10-1 to take the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle at Newbury.

It regularly pays to side with the class act in such races at the Berkshire track and she is on a roll.

All her wins this winter have come at Ludlow, a right-handed track, but she won a bumper at Bangor, going left, last spring.

Alan King has won the race before, so knows what is required. TARA VIEW (3.00, nap) should give us a run for our money.

Next up is the four-year-old hurdle. My tip, DINSDALE (3.35), is one of only two course winners in the line-up and his experience of the track should be a positive.

Don Bersy and Night Of Sin head the market as they have improved with each race. Deauville Crystal and Dusty Raven are the dark horses at the bottom of the handicap.

The French champ, James Reveley, has had a couple of winners at Auteuil since he returned from injury two weeks ago.

He is up at Kelso to ride Reve De Sivola but the 12-year-old has looked way past his race-by date this winter. ISAACSTOWN LAD (2.40) comes out top on my ratings and looks the better bet.

Paddy Power have BAYWING (3.15) at 9-2 for the stayers’ chase, while other bookies have him at 3-1. Grab those odds as they will go.

On my ratings he is entitled to start favourite. HEAD-ON VIEW: Tara View can defy top weight in her handicap
