Wembley falls silent for victims

-

ley.” It is understood Masood was radicalised in prison after he was jailed for slashing a pub landlord’s face. He then moved to Birmingham in 2012.

A former housemate claimed Masood spent hours on the internet.

The man recalled: “He never got off his computer and never let anyone look at it. He was addicted to it.

“He had a small room downstairs. There were often Arab guys coming in and out. I confronted him after I got suspicious. But he claimed they were paying him £8,000 a time to write their university theses. At the time, I believed him but looking back maybe MORE than 80,000 football fans fell silent yesterday in tribute to the victims of the Westminster attack.

Met Police Commissioner Craig Mackey, FA chairman Greg Clarke, London mayor Sadiq Khan and Culture Secretary Karen Bradley laid wreaths in the centre circle of the Wembley pitch.

Mr Khan said: “We stand together to remember those who were killed or injured.” he was plotting something.” Masood also tried to convert him. He said: “He often talked to me about Islam and said I should take that path.”

At the time, the killer’s breakfast routine was “eggs on toast, prayers and press-ups”. The ex-housemate recalled: “He was a fitness fanatic, always working out in front of me. He would do hundreds of press-ups a day. He had a powerful physique and was proud of how he looked.”

Masood once vandalised the cars of a netball team after his partner was left out of the side, it was claimed. He was then living in Northiam, East Sussex. He was so enraged he drove at a woman connected to the team. A 12th person linked to Masood was arrested yesterday in Birmingham. A man, 30, was held on suspicion of the preparation of acts of terrorism.

It has also emerged that while his eldest daughter followed him into converting to Islam, the youngest girl, Teegan Harvey, 18, defied his wishes and kept her Western lifestyle and was seen wearing a daring black top and a tight-fitting skirt.

Meanwhile, the mother of murdered soldier Lee Rigby told how she collapsed in tears when she heard about the slaughter at Westminster. The 25-year-old Fusilier was mowed down by a car in Woolwich, south London, in 2013 before being knifed to death by two fanatics.

Lyn Rigby, 50, said: “My heart is breaking all over again for the families of the new victims. It’s impossible to understand the utter despair unless you have been through it.”

Visitor numbers have plummeted at some of London’s popular tourist attractions since last year because of terror attack fears. The British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum welcomed more than a million fewer people in total in 2016 compared with the previous year.
