Baby boy joy for Olympic ice star Amy and soldier Craig

- By Anil Dawar

WINTER Olympic gold medallist turned TV presenter Amy Williams has announced the birth of a baby boy.

The former skeleton bobsled racer, 34, took to Twitter yesterday morning confirming the news of her first child with soldier husband Craig Ham.

She wrote: “Beyond happy to say I welcomed a beautiful healthy 8.4lb Baby Boy into this world on the 22nd March. I've never felt love like it #Blessed”.

Amy won the gold medal in the women's skeleton racing at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, earning an MBE in the birthday honours list that year.

Following her retirement from the sport in 2012, she appeared as a co-presenter on BBC Two's Ski Sunday in 2013 and replaced Rachel Riley on Channel 5's The Gadget Show in 2014.

She met Craig on dating app Tinder and the pair married 18 months later in her home village of Bathampton, near Bath.
