Britain set to bask in 70F spring heatwave

-

THE warm spell bathing Britain is about to get even hotter with highs of 70F (21C) predicted later this week.

A tropical blast from the Atlantic will push the mercury up to 22F higher than normal for the time of year.

It comes after 67.82F was recorded in Scotland on Sunday – the hottest of the year so far.

Met Office forecaster Emma Sharples said the best of the weather will be in the East, with the West catching some rain.

She said: “We expect temperatures in the upper teens on Wednesday and Thursday – but I wouldn’t be surprised to see 21C in some southern regions.”

Today will see 57-63F in the South with 50-52F expected further north.
