Put all illegal migrants on the first plane back home

THREE illegal migrants were found in the back of a truck in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire (“Migrants found in lorry after trucker’s tip-off”, March 27).

They came from Eritrea, East Africa, so why can’t they be sent back? Why are they taken to an asylum centre and given food and cared for until immigration officials look at their case?

What case? They have tried to sneak into our country illegally. God knows who they are. We do not want illegal migrants here.

I was watching a programme about immigration and in Australia, the US, Canada and Ireland the people who were trying it on were refused entry to those countries and sent straight back.

The Irish police said if migrants knew they would be returned to their place of origin it would surely stop them from trying in the future.

So why are we not doing the same instead of the ridiculous protocols we have go through?
