Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney write and star in this multi-award winning comedy about an Irish woman and an American man’s relationsh­ip. Rob (Delaney, left) returns to his job at Braeband saying he is just back from holiday in Canada, while bad news pulls Sharon to Ireland. Home alone looking after the children, Rob’s life continues to spiral out of control. Meanwhile Chris, also unhappy with the situation at home, decides to confront his nemesis.

Astronomy: Stargazing Live Australia, 8pm, BBC2

Physicist Professor Brian Cox (left) and comedian Dara Ó Briain (right) travel to Australia to explore the night skies in this new series. They are joined by Liz Bonnin on a remote mountain top in New South Wales, site of the world-famous Siding Spring Observator­y, and will have Australian Outback astronomer Greg Quicke as their guide to the southern sky, revealing some of the wonderful star tales told by indigenous people.

Real Life: Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum And Dad, 9pm, BBC1

Former Manchester United and England footballer Rio Ferdinand (left) speaks candidly about becoming a single parent to his three children after losing his 34-year-old wife, Rebecca, to breast cancer in 2015. Ferdinand, now a leading pundit, reveals he is still coming to terms with his loss and the effect it has had upon himself and his children. Rio meets others dealing with bereavemen­t and looks at the help available for parents and children to enable them to move on with their lives. In this immensely personal documentar­y exploring the complexiti­es of grief, Ferdinand tackles the stigma often faced by men

Documentar­y: Inside Kensington Palace, 8pm, Channel 5

A behind-the-scenes look at the royal residence which was home to the Princess of Wales and which is currently the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, plus Prince Harry. The palace is where Queen Victoria was born and was used as an artillery base in the Second World War.

Soap: Emmerdale, 7pm, ITV

Harriet (Katherine Dow-Blyton, right) trawls Hotten in her bus looking for Cain Dingle and finds him, just before the police do, with a bag full of stolen phones. Furious to have become involved in his scheme, she later confronts him and he offers her a cut which she refuses. Meanwhile, Debbie is saddened by the conflict between Faith and Chas, and Arthur falls ill, which means his family is not able to visit Ashley on his deathbed.
