It’s really Grim for Dutch

-

FRED GRIM will lead Holland for the friendly against Italy in Amsterdam tonight but there is no rush to appoint a permanent successor following the sacking of Danny Blind.

Former Ajax goalkeeper and Dutch Under-21 coach Grim, 51, right, takes interim charge with the Oranje in danger of missing a second successive major tournament after a 2-0 defeat in Bulgaria left them fourth in World Cup qualifying Group A.

Dutch FA commercial director Jean-Paul Decossaux said “all options are open” with regards to appointing a foreign coach for the first time since Austrian Ernst Happel guided them to the 1978 World Cup final. Louis van Gaal could return as technical director alongside a coach such as Ronald Koeman. But no appointment is likely until June.
