Mel B’s sister blasts ‘sorry excuse’ of a brother-in-law

Danielle Brown, 36, described Stephen Belafonte, who has been told to stay away from Mel and her three children in an interim order by a court, as a “sorry excuse of a man”.

Mel B has filed for divorce from Belafonte and wants to keep her youngest daughter, Madison, five, away from her father permanently.

Danielle, who lives in Mel B’s home city, Leeds, wrote on her Instagram: “I hope you go to jail and rot in hell!!”

In Twitter hashtags she called her brother-in-law a “wifebeater, psychopath, abuser, criminal, evil” and “devilman”. Film producer Belafonte, 41, vehemently denies the allegations made by Mel, real name Melanie Brown, in court documents in Los Angeles. She wants the order to exclude Belafonte from her family made permanent.

The Spice Girl, who has a £40million fortune, claims he beat her and forced her to participate in sex acts with other women. She also alleges he secretly filmed her in sex sessions and got their German nanny Lorraine Gilles, 26, Danielle Brown, sister of Mel pregnant. In a statement Belafonte’s lawyers said: “It’s a shame that Ms Brown elected not to proceed in a respectful and amicable fashion in this very private matter. “Mr Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms Brown, which he vehemently denies. “When the court determines the truth, it will become clear that this entire charade was nothing more than a smear campaign intended to cover up Ms Brown’s own conduct. “Mr Belafonte is confident that the truth will come out when he has his day in court.”
