Moyes delays ‘slap’ decision

-

SUNDERLAND boss David Moyes has been given another week to respond to an FA charge over his “slap” comment to a female journalist.

Moyes, below, was given until 6pm last night to make representations when he was charged last week with bringing the game into disrepute.

But the FA have confirmed the 54-year-old Scot asked for more time and he now has until May 10.

Meanwhile, both his Sunderland side and Bournemouth have been charged with failing to control their players during last Saturday’s game. The allegation surrounds an incident in the second half following Fabio Borini’s challenge on Lewis Cook. The FA said in a statement: “Both clubs have been charged following the game. It is alleged that in or around the 76th minute, the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. “They have until 6pm on May 5 to respond to the charge.” LIVERPOOL are to rename the Centenary Stand at Anfield after Kenny Dalglish. The 66-year-old, left, is regarded as one of the club’s greatest players after joining in 1977 and he also enjoyed two spells as manager. “His name is synonymous with our club, our home and the city of Liverpool. Now it will be as visible as it is palpable,” said principal owner John W Henry. ●DERBY have sacked chief executive and president Sam Rush after failing in their bid for promotion to the Premier League this season.
