Hit top 30 next, Harry

HULL CITY TOTTENHAM

MAURICIO Pochettino has challenged Harry Kane to hit the 30-goal mark next season after the England striker’s phenomenal finale.

After scoring four at Leicester on Thursday, hot-shot Kane hit three more at Hull yesterday as Tottenham thumped the relegated side.

And that gave him 29 Premier League goals, earning the 23-year-old the Golden Boot for the second year in a row.

“Next season, it’s the challenge for him to score 30,” Pochettino said. “He can. He’s still young, still improving.

“He is going to learn and that is the most important thing for players. It’s fantastic for him. His team-mates and the fans are so, so happy about that.

“He deserves it. Congratulations to him. He is one of the best strikers in the world.”

Kane took his place at the top of the scorers’ chart with those four goals at Leicester and, helped by Hull’s hapless defending, there was never a danger of him failing to add to his tally.

He scored twice in less than three minutes as Spurs quickly took control. The first was a left-foot 20-yard drive on 11 minutes, the second from close range after Kieran Trippier’s cushioned volley.

Kane played a part in the build-up as Dele Alli made in 3-0 with his 18th league goal, only for Sam Clucas to pull one back. Victor Wanyama headed in for 4-1 before Kane got his third after an Alli assist.

Hull, relegated last week, looked jaded, but Spurs showed no mercy, and, after Kane was taken off Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld added further goals.

Hull fans sang for boss Marco Silva to stay but, suitors are circling.

Silva said: “If I looked for only the connection between me and the fans, it’s impossible to say no [to staying].

“It’s important but it’s not the only thing. I need to think and decide what is best for my career.”
