Paper ‘DNA’ could beat the forgers
BRITISH scientists believe they have found a way of eradicating passport fraud “with 100 per cent accuracy”.
The researchers said all pieces of paper have different “DNA” in their textures.
They said individual pages produce “genetic fingerprints” allowing them to be identified.
The study suggests this would make cloning anything made from paper impossible and end the forging of passports and bank notes.
The team from Newcastle University will show their research to the Home Office. It is published in the journal ACM Transactions On Information And System Security.
