Always be wary of Blofeld

AS A young boy Marc Haynes was devastated to ask “James Bond” for an autograph and get one from a man called “Roger”. It was of course Sir Roger Moore, who consoled the boy by saying it was a false name he used to evade his nemesis Blofeld. They met 30 years later and while Sir Roger may have been shaken he was certainly not stirred. The actor again delighted Marc by discussing his plans to avoid his old enemy.

His sense of mischief, love of a joke and down-to-earth approach towards his fans all help explain why Sir Roger was one of our best-loved celebrities.
