Is A £19M DEAL FOR KATY PERRY ACCEPTABLE?

YesNEWS that Katy Perry has reportedly been offered £19million to appear on American Idol will no doubt have raised a few eyebrows (“An eye-watering deal for Katy”, May 24).

Lets be honest, who wouldn’t accept this huge sum of money if it was on offer. Money makes the world go round and if that’s the going rate for her then so be it.

Katy Perry is a fantastic singer who can pass on her expertise to others making their way in the world of entertainment. People pay ridiculous money to sports stars and the like, so why not Katy? Lauren Watson,

NoAMERICAN Idol’s offer of £19million for Katy Perry is truly obscene. How can any pop star’s time be worth as much as this? All she will have to do is offer a few words of advice to wannabe singers.

Talk about laughing all the way to the bank.

No wonder the spoilt generation of today think a hard day’s graft is beyond them when they can dream of pulling in this type of lifechanging money on the strength of a limited amount of work.
