Turmeric+ a solid gold winner

- By George Nichols

BILL Moore just doesn’t slow down. In the 12 months since the great grandfather was crowned Cambridge Nutraceuticals’ Older Active Champion, he has found a new lease of his non-stop life. Bill, a champion veteran swimmer, used to be known as Billy the Fish. Now he’s the Turmeric Kid after his discovery of the diet supplement Turmeric+.

Since he was named the UK’s most active person over 65, Bill has notched up 355 miles in the pool, equivalent to swimming the English Channel 14 times, and added 25 gold medals to his tally of regional and national titles.

Bill, 79, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, combines daily pool sessions with visits to the gym, yoga and walking 10 miles a week but, like many of us, Bill has not always found it easy to maintain his current level of activity. “As I got older I started to suffer from aches and pains in my joints and muscles, meaning I found it more difficult to maintain performance levels,” says Bill.

“There are still records to be broken and I didn’t want to cut down on my activities, so I decided to research ways to combat the problem.”

The solution was Turmeric+ from the FutureYou range, produced by the company behind his award.

Bill says: “During my research there was one thing that all avenues kept leading to, turmeric. There is a lot of scientific support advocating the use of turmeric for joints so I thought why not? And decided to give it a try.”

A year on and new medals in the pool keep on coming, remarkable considering Bill is at the top of his age category.

“Bill is an inspirational character and it is great to see him collect so many medals,” says Chris Meaney, head of marketing at Cambridge Nutraceuticals.

“He says next year is even more exciting as he will be the baby of the over 80s age group. He is a fantastic example to us all and we hope his story inspires others along the way.”

Turmeric+ features a combination of curcumin, obtained from the root of the turmeric plant and soy lecithin, which more than 20 clinical studies show makes it 30 times more absorbable than standard turmeric.

Turmeric+ is the only turmeric supplement to have undergone such a rigorous research programme.

Curcumin comes from the underground stems (rhizomes) of the turmeric plant, which are boiled, dried and ground in the same way as curry spice. The powerful effects of turmeric on joints has impressed both doctors and scientists, who are concerned that people can risk health problems from the long-term use of painkillers.
