Parades dropped over terror alert

CHELSEA and Arsenal have both cancelled planned festivitie­s this weekend following the terror attack in Manchester.

Premier League champions Chelsea have called off their victory parade arranged for Sunday and Arsenal will not hold a parade if they beat the Blues in Saturday’s FA Cup final, while the Gunners have also cancelled a screening of the match at the Emirates Stadium, after fears of further attacks intensifie­d over the past 48 hours.

Manchester is in mourning after the attack at an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night, when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside the Manchester Arena, killing 22 people and injuring dozens more.

The clubs took the decisions after Prime Minister Theresa May announced the upgrading of the security threat to the country to critical, and that troops were being deployed on the streets.
