Should men accept GRoWInG Bald GRaceFullY?

-

Yes I LOST my hair rather prematurely at 21 (“Hair-raising… a cure for baldness?” May 26).

But the more I think about the chance to grow a full head of hair again, the more I think that it would just be wrong.

I used to be very self-conscious having to shave my scalp with a razor just to look my age. But as the years went by I embraced my baldness and discovered that there are a lot of women out there who find bald men attractive.

Now my bald bonce is something that defines me and having hair would just feel strange. Geoff Parry,

Salford No MY hairline keeps me up at night. As it retreats further up my head it takes a chunk of my youth with it.

I am probably only a matter of months away from having to admit defeat and shave off the few follicles that remain.

I’ll more than certainly look like a thug as a result and I don’t want people to prejudge me as such. Equally, I don’t want an old man Bobby Charlton-style comb-over.

Being able to regrow hair would mean the world to me and to read about the scientists use of Tregs on mice to trigger stem cells fills me with hope. Andrew Ford, Birmingham did exactly the same, having also noticed a spelling error in the homework which had been set.

But much to our surprise my daughter was asked to attend a meeting with my granddaughter and her teacher whereupon the said teacher (having also spoken to the headteacher) expressed their “disbelief and shock”, telling my granddaughter how extremely rude and arrogant she was in having the audacity to correct a teacher.
