‘My hearing aids are virtually invisible’

TOMMY Robinson’s friends had noticed his hearing problems, but when they suddenly seemed to improve they were puzzled. He recalls: “When I got my Amplifon hearing aids, I didn’t tell anyone I had them in, but people noticed the difference in my hearing straight away.

“One of my friends said, ‘Tommy, you seem to be hearing much better, what have you done?’

Tommy’s hearing aids were so little his pals didn’t notice he was wearing them.

He adds: “I took one of my hearing aids and showed him and he went, ‘Wow, I didn’t know you could get them so small.’ It’s amazing how tiny they can make them now.”

It was Tommy’s wife, Eileen, who spotted an advertisement for Amplifon and suggested he book an appointment for a free hearing test.

And now Tommy says: “I wish I had done it much earlier. It was vanity, to be honest, but as I got older I realised I was missing a lot of conversations.

“When you haven’t got hearing aids, you seem to hear everything else but the person you are trying to concentrate on.

“My hearing aids have made a massive difference. They’re fantastic. They’re brilliant and the value is just unbelievable.”

One of the biggest benefits is that Tommy can now hear every word his grandchildren say.

“Before, my grandchildren would be saying things to me and I wouldn’t hear a thing, or I would have to keep asking them to repeat things.

“Now I have laughs and jokes with them – and I can hear when they are making fun of me or they’re up to mischief.”

“To be honest I should have gone to Amplifon much earlier than I did. Now I can really enjoy time with my grandchildren.”
