Olivia ‘will beat’ cancer

-

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi says her mother will beat her latest breast cancer battle.

On Tuesday Olivia revealed the disease had returned 25 years after she had recovered from her original diagnosis. Now Chloe – pictured with her mum – insists that a combination of medical treatment and a medicinal cannabis will help her win the battle. “I want to thank all of you for your love and support,” the 31-year-old stated. “My mum, and best friend, is going to be fine. She will be using medicine that I often talk about – CBD oil – [cannabis is said to have properties which inhibit cancer cell growth] and other natural healing remedies plus modern medicine to beat this. “Cancer is the disease of our generation and it is part of my and my mother’s quest to beat this insidious monster… My mum is so powerful she will beat this in no time.”

Last week, Grammy winner Olivia, 68, cancelled planned meet-and-greet events for her upcoming North American tour after doctors discovered that the severe back pain she has been suffering was a result of cancer spreading to her spine.

Her spokesperson stated: “The back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasised to the sacrum.

“In addition to natural wellness therapies, Olivia will complete a short course of photon radiation therapy and is confident she will be back later in the year better than ever to celebrate her shows.”

The star, who shot to fame in the 1978 film Grease, underwent a mastectomy in 1992 when first diagnosed with the disease.
