Double delight for Beyoncé and Jay-Z

BEYONCÉ has given birth in Los Angeles to twins. Although the 35-year-old singer and rapper husband Jay-Z, 47, have yet to confirm the news, a number of US websites have reported that the superstar couple – who already have five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy – welcomed the two new additions to their family early last week.

“Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends,” an unidentified source is quoted as saying in People Magazine.

No further details have been revealed.

Rumours were sparked that the Lemonade star was in labour when Jay-Z missed an appearance at the Songwriters’ Hall Of Fame Awards in New York where he was due to be inducted by former US President Barack Obama.

In a video message Obama, who has two teenage girls Sasha and Malia with wife Michelle, said: “Jay-Z and I are fools to our daughters. Although he is going to have me beat when those twins show up,” leading fans to speculate the babies were both girls.

Beyoncé revealed in February she was expecting twins in a now famous Instagram post, right.

The former Destiny’s Child frontwoman shared the elaborately staged photograph of herself cradling her baby bump, with the message: “We have been blessed two times over.”

The image has since been “liked” more than 11million times, making it the most popular picture ever on the social media website.
