CAROL CAN LOOK BACK AND SMILE

-

SHE WAS hardly off our TVs in the 1990s and 2000s in Wheel Of Fortune and then Changing Rooms but Carol Smillie, 55, says she does not hanker to return to the small screen as she believes she had her time in the limelight.

Carol says: “I had the best TV run and most presenters would not dream of the breaks I had. But sometimes it’s good to walk away with your head held high and say it’s someone else’s time now.”

The mother of three does have one reminder of her glory days on the home makeover show. “In my sewing room I collected the leftover fabric from Changing Rooms. I used to take it home to make kids’ costumes,” she adds.

“It was a sheer pleasure to do the show for 10 years with a bunch of mates.”

YOU DO PANEL SHOWS AND “THERE’S NOTHING WORSE WHEN YOU THROW OUT A LINE AND PEOPLE JUST LOOK AT YOU LIKE HEART SHRIVEL UP.” YOU’RE AN IDIOT. IT MAKES YOUR EVEN ROBUST COMEDY VETERAN JO BRAND HAS HER MOMENTS OF SELF-DOUBT
