Milky Way lights up Hovis hill
THE rare sight of the Milky Way has illuminated the night sky over the site of Britain’s best-loved advert.
The centre of our galaxy was visible over Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, Dorset, yesterday.
The cobbled street became famous after it featured in an iconic Hovis advertisement on television 44 years ago.
Hollywood director Ridley Scott made the famous “Boy on Bike” commercial which featured a young lad pushing a bicycle full of loaves along the cobbles.
It featured Dvorak’s New World Symphony and has been voted Britain’s favourite advertisement of all time.
