Young voters need history lesson in socialist failures

-

I’M sure I don’t need a poll to tell me that younger people vote Labour (“Swing in age groups was dividing factor in general election result”, June 21).

I’ve seen at first hand how these voting patterns have condemned Britain to ruinous 20-year cycles of failed socialist administrations.

Whether it be young men returning from the Second World War, youngsters in the Swinging Sixties or the student population of the Tony Blair era, most young voters vote Labour, oblivious to the socialist spend, borrow, nationalise and tax experiments of the past.

Now we are facing another “something for nothing” episode with Jeremy Corbyn.

The irony is that with no postwar US aid or EU/IMF bailout, it will be left to these young voters to bear the burden of the trillions of debt created by their votes. Roy Daniels, Luton, Beds
