Handouts to tower victims wouldn’t apply to us all

-

I read that taxpayers’ money is to be handed out to residents of Grenfell Tower.

A most terrible unspeakable tragedy and loss of life everyone, including myself, would admit.

But if my house was obliterated by a fire, would I receive immediate handouts from the Government?

I suspect I would be told to get in touch with my insurers and if I was short of funds hope that friends or family would house me.

But help from the state? No, I would simply be referred to my insurers or join the thousands of others who have fallen on hard times and sleep in shop doorways every night with no assistance from Prime Minister May, Comrade Corbyn or friends.
