Difficult to grasp the true emotions of suicidal person

DURING my time as a Samaritan I never, as Ann Widdecombe wrote, asked a caller considerin­g suicide “How do you think your wife/kids/ mother will feel? (“Noel’s woes are a lesson to all of us”, June 21).

The call is about them and not about adding guilt.

In my experience, it would be revealed one factor contributi­ng towards the suicide was perceived as being for the sake of the family, certainly not because this aspect was not considered.
