5 THINGS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT

29, star of MTV’s Geordie Shore, is from Newcastle and lives in London. Her boyfriend is fashion designer John Noble

- VICKY PATTISON, Interview by LUCY BENYON

1 MY BOYFRIEND John and I dated when we were 20 but back then we were both far too selfish and full of our own dreams to commit to each other so we broke up and lost touch. Then last year I bumped into John on a train and as we got chatting I realised just how handsome and lovely he was. In the years apart we’d both grown up and found our own success and it felt like we were finally ready to be together. I know from bitter experience that not many men can cope with a successful, loud woman like me but John is an exception. He’s not only incredibly supportive of everything I do, he is genuinely proud of my accomplishments too. I definitely think he’s the one and we’re very happy together. However not even blind love can persuade me that babies are a good idea. I am pretty much convinced that children aren’t for me.

2 CHEESE

Someone once told me that cheese is the savoury person’s chocolate and I know exactly what they mean as I am completely addicted to it.

The other night I went to this amazing bash but at the end of the evening the staff brought out all these tiny cupcakes instead of a cheese board and to be honest it completely ruined my night.

I don’t have posh tastes. I definitely find the blue, smelly stuff a bit too much for me and I think cheese should definitely be yellow or, better still, orange.

I’m not retro enough for pickled onions but I don’t think you can beat a big slab of cheddar with crusty brown bread and a glass of port.

3 SPRAY TAN

I love a bit of colour and a spray tan helps me to look sun-kissed all year round.

These days I like to think my bronzed hue is rather subtle, nothing like the awful DIY jobs I used to perform as a teenager.

Back then I’d spend every Wednesday evening painting myself orange, before topping up on a Thursday. By the time I hit the town on a Friday, I looked radioactive.

4 NEWCASTLE

I’m a proud Geordie and every time I go back to Newcastle I am reminded of all the things I really like about myself.

I am very close to my family, especially my younger sister Laura who is one of my favourite people. In Newcastle I have friends I’ve known all my life and I never have to try very hard.

My nearest and dearest wouldn’t dream of giving me any sort of special treatment, which is great.

In fact when I got back from my stint in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! my mum greeted me home by asking me to empty the dishwasher.

5 GIN

I think I am getting a little bit refined as I get older as my passion for kebabs and shots has been replaced by cheddar and gin.

When I was younger I could never stand the taste of gin but I guess it’s a bit like coffee. It simply grows on you as you get older – and it has definitely grown on me.

There is this fabulous gin bar in Newcastle called Pleased To Meet You and whenever I am there I become an obsessive gin bore.

My favourite variety is a glass of Hendrick’s with sliced cucumber and elderflower. That’s one drink I could never tire of. My Sister’s Wedding by Vicky Pattison is out now (Sphere, £7.99)
