Cheating boyfriend is caught on Facebook celebrating lover’s baby

-

Magistrates ordered her to pay Mr Wilmott £50 compensation.

The 50-year-old mother-of-five and Mr Wilmott, 37, were in a relationship for five years but split up at the end of last year, the court heard.

She said when she saw the photo in March she realised he must have cheated on her when they were together. The first she allegedly heard of it was when a friend approached her in a shop and said: “Congrats on your baby.”

Ms Chinn said she was then shown the Facebook photo of Mr Wilmott and the baby.

She told magistrates: “I was heartbroken when I saw that picture of him and the baby. He was the person I wanted to be with for ever, so it did hurt. I didn’t go down there to cause trouble, but I was really wound up, so I did kick the van.”

She added: “But I don’t regret what I did. He deserved it. I’d do it again.” Greg Peters, defending, said: “She went to her partner’s garage with the intention of finding out what was going on.

“Whilst there she met another lady who said she was in a relationship with the complainant.

“She became angry and accepts remonstrating with her partner when he returned.”

He added: “Mr Wilmott grabbed hold of her and there was a tussle between both of them.”

After the hearing, Ms Chinn, who runs a clothes shop, said: “What hurt was the fact he’d been sleeping with other people while he was with me. I was gutted.”

She added: “He keeps claiming that I’m harassing him, but I’m just not interested.

“I’ve moved on. I’ve met someone else – and as far as I’m aware, he’s now living with that woman he’s had the baby with. Surely it would make sense if we left each other alone now.”
