Food And Drink: Nadiya’s British Food Adventure, 8.30pm, BBC2

During the seven series of Great British Bake Off we have come across many diverse and interesting characters. Arguably the most engaging and popular, alongside last year’s winner Candice Brown, is 2015 champion Nadiya Hussain (left). In a wise move on behalf of BBC bosses, the likeable lady from Luton has been given her own eight-part series, beginning tonight. Over the next two months she embarks on a culinary road trip around Britain, meeting with producers, farmers and fishermen across the country as she creates her own recipes inspired by their produce. Her first stops are at an asparagus farm in Oxford and a smokery in Milton Keynes.

Drama: Fearless, 9pm, ITV

The thriller reaches a conclusion as Emma (Helen McCrory, left) tries to finally uncover the truth and Heather reassures Matthew nothing connects the evidence to Linda’s death. Kretchmer isn’t convinced and urges Heather to stay in the UK to fix the situation while DCS Greenwood tracks down the mother of Rachel Leigh, Linda’s friend and the last person known to see her alive. Visiting her in a nursing home, Emma hopes she may give her the last piece of the puzzle.

Fantasy drama: Game Of Thrones: 9pm, Sky Atlantic

The show with a legion of fans worldwide makes its eagerly-awaited return for a seventh and penultimate series, although viewers who could not wait could see it at 2am in a simulcast with the USA. Tonight Jon Snow organises the defence of the North, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey, above with Nikolaj CosterWaldau as Jaime Lannister) tries to even the odds and Daenerys Targaryen comes home.

Drama: Ripper Street, 9pm, BBC2

Now that Edmund Reid is locked in the cells of Leman Street, and Jedediah Shine is dead, it seems that Augustus Dove (Killian Scott, above) has won the battle for Whitechapel. All that remains is for Dove and his protege Drummond to track down Long Susan and Jackson and bring them to justice. For Reid it seems that all hope is lost – but is it time for one last roll of the dice in his bid to take down Dove?
