Liam’s looking back in anger

-

NO AMOUNT of money will reunite Oasis insists Liam Gallagher – until he and brother Noel mend their fractious relationship.

The 44-year-old admits that the most difficult part of the band dismantling almost a decade ago is that he and Noel, 50, haven’t spoken since. “Me and our kid don’t speak and that’s the saddest thing about it. We’ve got to start becoming brothers and friends again,” says Liam, left.

“It don’t matter how many noughts you put on a cheque. We didn’t do Oasis to make money. I did it to make music and get out of Manchester and see what’s out there.

“Music’s about having a laugh and life’s about having a laugh. People seem to be putting out a tune and taking a cheque and going back to a big house.” While the pair haven’t spoken face-to-face they have become notorious for trading jibes at each other on Twitter.

When asked if the constant social media wars are detrimental to Oasis ever reforming, Liam, who has followed the same path as Noel by going solo, replies: “I don’t care about getting Oasis back together but he prods me and I prod him and I like winding him up. I’m just reminding him that I’m right here cos his head’s up a few people’s backsides. I know it’s childish but I don’t care.”

The band split after a row between the brothers in 2009 just moments before they were due to headline the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
