Teacher who had sex on plane with pupil is in the Navy now
A TEACHER banned from the classroom for having sex with a pupil on a plane was yesterday on military manoeuvres having joined the Royal Navy.
A disciplinary hearing found that physics teacher Eleanor Wilson, 28, had sex with the teenager in the toilet of a budget airline flight following a school trip to Geneva in 2015.
Wilson, who was yesterday with her Royal Navy Reservist unit on Dartmoor, having been banned from teaching, first performed a sex act on the pupil before they then had full intercourse in the toilet cubicle.
“Pupil A” told the hearing how the teacher was intoxicated during their sky-high encounter and admitted downing five miniature bottles of wine himself.
Wilson was not present at the hearing but the panel heard she had previously denied the pair kissed or had sex, and claimed they simply “hugged on occasion”. But the panel was told their relationship continued for several months and they communicated through racy text messages and arranged illicit meetings outside the school.
Yesterday Somerset and Avon Police confirmed they are investigating the relationship but Wilson’s brother Jethro, 26, protested her innocence.
He said: “She didn’t get sacked from teaching. She left because of all the hassle she was getting from the younger students.
“It’s a real shame. They need more good teachers like her. She was the smartest teacher in her school. It’s completely bizarre that they have gone to that length to degrade a young female like that.”
The disciplinary panel heard how Wilson, from Keighley, West Yorks, continued their relationship, texting and meeting up for drinks despite gossip about the relationship spreading throughout the school in Bristol.
In September 2015 the headmaster heard rumours about the relationship and quizzed Wilson about them. But she denied any improper behaviour and no further action was taken.
But the relationship came to light seven months later after another pupil threatened to reveal the tryst unless Wilson also had sex with him. The blackmail attempt was reported to the school and the police, prompting an investigation that lead to Wilson’s dismissal in May 2016.
She appeared before a National College for Teaching and Leadership disciplinary panel earlier this month where she was found guilty of all but two of the allegations against her.
The name of the school and the name and age of Pupil A were not revealed at the hearing to protect his identity.
