City’s boo-boys get the all clear

WATFORD have completed the £13million signing of Fluminense striker Richarlison

The Brazil Under-20 star, right, has signed a five-year contract after receiving a work permit.

Richarlison, 20, who scored 19 goals in 67 games for Fluminense, is Hornets manager Marco Silva’s sixth summer signing after Tom Cleverley, Nathaniel Chalobah, Kiko Femenia, Will Hughes and Daniel Bachmann. MANCHESTER CITY fans can carry on booing UEFA’s anthem.

European football’s governing body have amended their regulations after accepting it is the right of supporters to boo, jeer and wolf whistle their anthem before Champions League and Europa League games.

UEFA opened a disciplinary file against City in October 2015 – although took no further action – after their fans booed the anthem before a Champions League group game against Seville, in protest against the failure to enforce a punishment given to CSKA Moscow for the club’s fans making monkey chants towards City midfielder Yaya Toure.

Meanwhile, City will not come under scrutiny from UEFA financial fair play regulators until September 2018 following manager Pep Guardiola’s record-breaking £210m summer spend.

Clubs are given a year to show they have balanced their books and City are confident their increased revenue streams will do that. NEWCASTLE have stepped up interest in West Ham’s Adrian. Toon boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bolster his goalkeeping options and identified the 30-year-old, left, as a key target. West Ham exercised an option this summer to extend Adrian’s contract by two years, but have since signed Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City. Crystal Palace are also keen on the keeper.

MANUEL LANZINI is set to be given an improved deal as West Ham try to secure the future of the playmaker, 24, who has three years left on his current contract.
