Surfer Cameron gets wires crossed

- By Frances Millar

DAVID Cameron set out to catch some waves while on holiday in Cornwall – but instead caught an old tangle of wire.

The former prime minister was spotted on Polzeath Beach near Padstow where despite the grey skies the 50-year-old donned his wet suit and braved the surf as his wife Samantha looked on.

Alas, after the ex-Tory leader’s visit to the award-winning beauty spot lifeguards had to close the beach – when sewage was found in the sea.

The picturesque seaside resort is a favourite with the Camerons who visited the same location for their summer break last year and in 2013.

The latest off-duty snap of the Eton-educated politician comes after he was photographed at the weekend at the Wilderness Festival in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, near his country home.

One image taken at the upmarket live music event in the Cotwolds showed him with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other being embraced by a pink-haired reveller.

Mr Cameron was unaware that Lucy Edwards, 29, who posed with him in the picture, was wearing a jacket with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s name in a pink love heart emblazoned on the back.

In another photo that went viral, Mr Cameron and his wife accidentally photobombed Labour party activist Vanessa Price, 47, appearing behind her as she posed for a selfie with her husband Steve.
