British schoolboy is missing after mum is hit by terror van

- By David Pilditch TERROR IN SPAIN

A BRITISH boy aged seven was last night feared to be one of the victims of the Spanish terror attacks.

Little Julian Cadman was listed among the missing by distraught relatives after the killings by jihadis.

His mother Jom suffered horrific injuries after being mown down by a speeding van in the first attack in Barcelona.

Mrs Cadman is in a coma with multiple fractures and facial injuries. It is not clear whether she is aware her son is missing.

The youngster’s father Andrew, a cabinet maker, was flying in from Australia to join the search for his son.

Julian was separated from his mother during the attack in Las Ramblas, which killed 13 and injured more than 100.

The schoolboy, who lives with his family in Sydney and has dual nationality, had travelled to Spain with his mother, originally from the Philippines, to attend a family wedding.

Yesterday Theresa May confirmed UK authorities are “urgently” investigating reports of a missing child.

The Prime Minister said: “Sadly I must tell you we do believe a number of British nationals were caught up in the attack and we are urgently looking into reports of a child believed missing, a British dual national.”

Julian was born in Tonbridge, Kent, and moved to Sydney three years ago with his parents.

His aunt Norma Canaveral, 66, from London, said: “We are just so worried. I am just waiting for news, hoping for good news.”

Snatched

She described Julian as a “lovely, bubbly and sweet” child.

Officials said citizens of 34 countries were killed or injured in the two separate attacks, the second involving a car driven at pedestrians in the seaside town of Cambrils.

The death toll rose to 14 early yesterday after a 61-year-old woman from Zaragoza, who was repeatedly stabbed in Cambrils, died.

A three-year-old boy is also reported to have died, along with his mother and her uncle – mown down on the busy promenade.

Last night it emerged an Italian father-of-two died in Las Ramblas saving the life of his five-year-old son.

Bruno Gulotta, 35, threw himself between his son Alessandro and the speeding van.

His wife snatched the little boy to safety. Mr Gulotta was killed instantly.

A second Italian Luca Russo, 25, was killed in front of his horrified fiancee Marta Scomazzo, who escaped with minor injuries.

American construction worker Jared Tucker, 42, was also feared to be among the dead. He was celebrating his first wedding anniversary with wife Heidi Nunes, 40.

Another victim was Belgian mother of two boys, Elke Vanbockrijck, 44.

Three Germans were reported to have been killed in the attack while a 74-year-old Portuguese woman is also believed to be among the dead. Her granddaughter, 20, is also missing.
