Sanches coup for Swansea

Sterling. There could still be further movement at the Emirates as both Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez have been linked with other clubs.

The pair only arrived at Arsenal late last summer but are outside bets to depart just a year later.

Mustafi has been linked with Inter Milan having played just once – in the 1-0 defeat at Stoke – so far this campaign.

Perez has been told he is free to leave but a financial package with former club Deportivo has been some way from completion for weeks.

The 29-year-old, who has also garnered interest from Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle, is now hoping a last-minute loan deal can be put in place to see him return to the Riazor.

Meanwhile, Liverpool striker Divock Origi was last night close to joining German club Wolfsburg on a season’s loan.

The Belgium international had looked set to be offered to Monaco as part of a deal for Lemar, but a move to the Bundesliga is now more likely.

Origi, 22, believes his chances of first-team football at Anfield will be limited. ALEXIS BLOCK: Sanchez may not now get his move RENATO SANCHES is set for a deadline-day move to Swansea.

In an ambitious deal for the Welsh club, the Bayern Munich midfielder has agreed to join on a season-long loan. Swansea manager Paul Clement coached the Portuguese star while working at Bayern as No 2 to Carlo Ancelotti.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Monaco were all interested in signing Sanches, but Clement’s close relationship with Ancelotti has swung the deal in favour of Swansea.

Sanches has fallen out of favour at Bayern. The 20-year-old joined Bayern from Benfica for £31million in May last year before helping Portugal to Euro 2016 glory.

The final details of Sanches’s move to South Wales – including a loan fee and wage structure – will be ironed out today.

Clement also plans to add West Brom’s Nacer Chadli and Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony to his squad.

Bony, who is unwanted at City, is keen on a return to Swansea, but Clement must first decide on whether to allow Fernando Llorente to join Chelsea before signing the Ivorian.
