Deal or no deal...A-listers hit the trading floor in aid of 9/11 charity

- By Cyril Dixon

FORMER Bake Off star Mary Berry served up a tasty stock in the City yesterday – all for a good cause.

The 82-year-old joined a host of stars – including chat king Alan Carr and actress Liz Hurley – for the charity trading day held every year to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The celebrity stockbrokers also included US film star Danny DeVito, actress Keira Knightley, singers Ellie Goulding, Sarah Harding and Frankie Bridge, as well as TV host Melanie Sykes, the Countess of Wessex and Dame Kelly Holmes. Also taking part at Canary Wharf in east London were TV stars Holly Willoughby, Davina McCall and Fearne Cotton.

The event is staged by finance firms Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners, in memory of more than 700 of their colleagues killed in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Proceeds go to charities such as the British Heart Foundation, Make-A-Wish and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
