THE ex-boyfriend of an antiques dealer who was brutally hacked to death was yesterday warned he could face jail for forging her will to get their £850,000 home.

Robert Webb, 54, faked Robyn Mercer’s signature after she was murdered last year, a court heard.

Ms Mercer’s body was found in the driveway of their house in West Molesey, Surrey, in March 2016.

The mother-of-two, 52, was attacked with an axe or machete as she took the bins out then bludgeoned. No one has been charged with her murder and the investigation continues.

In September last year Webb told police he had found her will inside a book and had it witnessed by his brother and friend before sending it to his solicitors. However it was later found Ms Mercer’s signature on the will was not genuine following an analysis by a handwriting expert.

Webb also claimed the two witnesses had seen the whole document.
