- By Giles Sheldrick

STRICTLY fans have finally found out which dances their favourite stars will attempt in the first live show of the series.

The BBC One hit returns next Saturday and, while traditionally the debut live shows were split between two episodes on Friday and Saturday, this year the two have been combined into one Saturday night spectacular.

Debbie McGee, 58, will attempt a paso doble with Giovanni Pernice, echoing his heritage by dancing to Fergie’s Be Italian.

Sunday Brunch chef Simon Rimmer, 54, and his partner Karen Clifton will do the same dance to Blur’s Song 2.

Series favourite, Saturdays singer Mollie King, 30, and AJ Pritchard, will perform a jive to Good Golly Miss Molly by Little Richard. Holby City star Joe McFadden, 41, and Katya Jones will do the same dance to the Jackson 5’s Rockin’ Robin.

Four couples will take on the cha cha. Rev Richard Coles, 55, and Dianne Buswell will have Eurythmics’ There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart). Chizzy Akudolu, 43, and Pasha Kovalev will perform to Boogie Fever by The Sylvers, Emmerdale’s Gemma Atkinson, 32, and Aljaz Skorjanec will use Shawn Mendes’s There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back and EastEnders star Davood Ghadami, 35, and Nadiya Bychkova will dance to Lloyd’s Dedication To My Ex.

In the waltz, Alexandra Burke, 29, and Gorka Marquez will dance to Aretha Franklin’s (You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman; Jonnie Peacock, 24, and Oti Mabuse chose When I Need You by Luther Vandross, while Ruth Langsford, 57, and Anton Du Beke will have This Nearly Was Mine by Seth MacFarlane.

Aston Merrygold, 29, and Janette Manrara will foxtrot to Harry Connick Jr’s It Had To Be You; Charlotte Hawkins, 42, and Brendan Cole chose The Best Is Yet To Come by Michael Buble.

There will only be one tango, with Brian Conley, 56, and Amy Dowden dancing to Heaven 17’s hit Temptation.

Strictly Come Dancing, September 23, 6.25pm on BBC One.
