Former head girl returns as teacher

A FORMER head girl has returned to her old classroom – as a teacher.

Clarette Goodhead, 28, left school in 2005 after securing nine grade As at GCSE.

She went on to study English at Birmingham University before moving to Dubai.

Clarette has now started work at her old school, Madeley High, in Crewe, Cheshire, after applying for a job teaching 11-year-olds English.

“It was strange at first,” she said. “There are still members of staff here who taught me when I was a pupil and my school photo is still in the hallway. My favourite subject was PE, though, not English.”
